📚 Legibee Learning Academy

A School Built for Students
Who Learn Differently

Legibee Learning Academy is a private micro-school serving 7th and 8th grade students in Florida. We specialize in personalized, small-group instruction that meets every student where they are and moves them forward faster than a traditional classroom ever could.

Our founder is a specialized intervention teacher with a proven track record. Over the course of a full school year starting in November, her students didn't just improve — they made years of progress in both reading and math. 85% of students closed at least 1–2 learning gaps, and some went from 2–3 grade levels behind to learning on grade level. The results below are verified by diagnostic assessments and school MAP test data. They are the reason this school exists.

Results below come from our founder's small-group intervention sessions with students in grades 4–8 over a full school year (November–May), verified through diagnostic pre/post assessments and school MAP test results. This is the exact teaching approach Legibee Learning Academy is built on.

🎓 The Teacher Behind the Results

What She Did That Made
the Difference

Here is exactly what our founder did to produce growth that most classrooms never see.

🎯

Started Where Each Student Actually Was

She assessed every student first — then built instruction around their real starting point. No student was left behind because of a gap they came in with.

🔁

Targeted Root Causes, Not Symptoms

She identified foundational gaps and fixed them at the root, so students could finally access vocabulary and comprehension at a higher level.

🌍

Made Math Real and Relevant

By connecting every lesson to real life — budgeting, measuring, problem-solving — students stopped asking "why do I need this?" and started applying it on their own.

📊

Used Data to Drive Every Decision

She tracked progress through diagnostics and MAP data, adjusting instruction immediately for each student based on what the numbers showed.

💬

Built Confidence Alongside Skills

Students who once shut down started raising their hands and telling their teachers they finally understood. That shift in identity makes gains stick.

👥

Kept Groups Small on Purpose

Just 2–3 students at a time meant every question got answered and every misconception got corrected the moment it appeared.

📊 Growth by the Numbers

The Growth. The Data.
The Proof.

These results were achieved over a full school year starting in November, verified by pre/post diagnostic assessments and school MAP test data. 100% = one full year of expected growth. Above 100% = exceeded it.

🏆
Top Student — Reading & Math
Highest individual growth achieved
421% reading growth + 280% math growth in one school year
421%
This student grew more than 4× expected reading growth and nearly 3× expected math growth — in the same cycle. That is years of progress in months.
📚
Median Reading Growth — All Students
Compared to expected annual progress
More than half the group grew beyond a full year in reading
123%
The median student exceeded a full year of expected reading growth.
📈
All Students — Learning Gaps Closed
Percentage of students who closed at least 1–2 gaps
85% of students closed at least 1–2 learning gaps over the school year
85%
Some students went from 2–3 grade levels behind to learning on their actual grade level. That kind of turnaround changes a student's entire trajectory.
🔄
Students Who Were 3+ Grade Levels Behind
Before vs. After — Reading & Math
Reading: 3+ Levels Behind
67%
before → 24% after
Math: 3+ Levels Behind
65%
before → 23% after
Most students who started severely behind moved out of that category. In both reading and math, roughly 2 out of 3 far-behind students caught up significantly.

❓ Questions Parents Ask

Everything You Want to Know

How long did it take the teacher to get these results? +
These results were achieved over a full school year, starting in November and continuing through the end of the year. This was not a quick fix — it was consistent, personalized, data-driven instruction over months that produced years' worth of growth for the majority of students.
What does "3+ grade levels behind" mean, and how did students move out of it? +
If a student is in 7th grade but reading or doing math at a 3rd or 4th grade level, they are considered 3 or more grade levels behind. At the start, 67% of students in reading and 65% in math fell into that category. After intervention, those numbers dropped to 24% and 23%. That means most of those far-behind students moved forward enough to exit that category — which requires significant, real growth, not just a small bump.
How are the results measured? +
Growth is tracked through pre and post diagnostic assessments as well as school MAP test results. These are standardized tools used to measure how much a student grew compared to what was expected of a student at their level in a full year. 100% means they met one year of expected growth. Our median reading student hit 123% — more than a full year.
My child struggles in both reading and math. Can this help with both? +
Yes — and the results show it. Several students made major gains in both reading and math at the same time. One student grew 421% in reading and 280% in math in the same cycle. The teaching approach works because it addresses how students learn — not just the content of one subject.
What grades does Legibee Learning Academy serve? +
Legibee Learning Academy serves 7th and 8th grade students full time. The results shown on this page come from our founder's small-group intervention work with students in grades 4–8, which is the same teaching model the academy uses.
Is this a tutoring program or a full-time school? +
Legibee Learning Academy is a full-time private micro-school — not just a tutoring program. Students attend as their primary school and receive a complete academic experience, including Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Health & Wellness, and Life Skills. We also offer a separate summer tutoring program focused on targeted math intervention to help students strengthen skills and stay on track.
My child has struggled in traditional school. Is this a good fit? +
Legibee was built specifically for students who haven't thrived in a traditional classroom — not because they can't learn, but because traditional classrooms haven't found the right way to reach them. Small groups, personalized instruction, and real-world connections make the difference.
My child has ADHD, dyslexia, an IEP, or ADD. Does this school provide support? +
Yes. We support high-functioning students with ADHD, dyslexia, and similar learning differences through focused, small-group instruction in reading and math. While we do not provide therapy or the full range of services found in public schools, our program gives students the tools and confidence to thrive academically and beyond.
How will I stay informed about my child's progress? +
We provide regular progress communication so you always know what your child has mastered, where they are growing, and what is coming next. No surprises. Ever.
