Q Why do families choose Legibee Learning Academy? +

We know that choosing the right school for your child is a big decision. At Legibee Learning Academy, students receive personalized support, engaging instruction, and a learning approach that helps them truly understand and remember what they are taught. In addition to reading and math intervention, students take life skills courses that support independence, responsibility, and everyday success, helping them prepare for high school and beyond.

Q What ages do you serve? +

We welcome students in 7th and 8th grade into our learning environment.

Q How long is the program? +

Our program runs two years, giving students enough time to strengthen academic and life skills before high school.

Q Is this program legally recognized? +

Yes. We operate as a registered private school and meet all state educational requirements.

Academics & Curriculum

Q What curriculum do you use? +

We follow state standards for core subjects and integrate real-world, project-based learning to help students master skills.

Q What are "Life Skill" courses? +

Life skill courses teach students practical skills they can use in everyday life. Topics include personal responsibility, time management, communication, problem-solving, basic money skills, and other lessons that help students become independent and confident.

Q Do you offer extracurriculars or enrichment? +

Yes. Our life skills courses also serve as enrichment opportunities.

Q How do you handle different grades together? +

Students learn at their own pace while still being guided through the grade-level skills they need to succeed.

Q How do you measure student progress? +

Progress is tracked with mastery-based assessments, progress reports, parent conferences, and state-required testing for 8th graders.

Q What happens after 8th grade? Do you help with high school placement? +

Students graduate at the end of 8th grade and transition to high school. We support families during this transition to ensure students feel confident and prepared.

Q What is your student-to-teacher ratio? +

We maintain a 14:1 student-to-teacher ratio to ensure personalized attention.

Q Do you go on field trips? +

Yes. Field trips are planned based on what students are learning and help bring lessons to life. Parents will be notified 3-4 weeks in advance and some field trips may have an additional cost.

Q What are your teachers' qualifications? +

Our educators are licensed teachers with bachelor's degrees and have experience in intervention and real-world, project-based learning.

Q How does Legibee handle classroom disruptions or behavioral issues? +

We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, violence, or repeated disruptions. Expectations are clear, taught, and enforced consistently. Parents are notified for repeated issues, and for major or extreme behavior problems, parents will be required to pick up their child. Students must address their behavior before returning. This approach teaches self-control, accountability, and respect — skills essential for high school and beyond.

Q What if my child needs learning support? +

We differentiate instruction to meet each student's needs and work closely with families to provide support.

Logistics & Tuition

Q What are your school hours? +

We operate Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Q How much is the tuition? +

$13,500 per student, per school year.

Q Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance? +

Yes. We are in the process of accepting the Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) Program. More details will be shared as enrollment opens.

Q Will there be transportation provided? +

Unfortunately, transportation is not provided at this time. Families are responsible for dropping off and picking up their students.

Q Do you provide meals? +

Families pack lunches. We provide healthy snacks and encourage outdoor lunch breaks when possible.
